Things that I learned when shelling out candy. And it’s not Boojolais!
FIVE things for wine lovers to remember when shelling out candy. For next year.
#1. Do not answer the door with a glass of Chardonnay in your hand. The kids won’t find it scary but the parents standing on the sidewalk in front of your house might.
#2. When you hear ” DING DONG” it does not mean last call and guzzle your glass. If you do so, it will be a very long night and an even worse morning.
#3. A good tannic red will go well with the chocolate that you will inevitably steal from your children, nieces, nephews or grandchildren. READ THE CHOCOLATE BLOG
#4. Do not be offended by the kids that say to you: “great mask”. Even though you’re not wearing one.
#5. And in closing, turn out the lights at 9pm since all the little ones who had made an effort to dress up and participate in the spirit of the occasion have finished up and gone home to excitedly check out their stash. Anyone who rings the doorbell after 9 is most likely not dressed in a costume and could be pushing close to my age. Creepy eh!
Life is short…enjoy the moment.
Cheers, I mean BOO!
